Where USF faculty, students and graduates are invited to talk about journalism and its problems and opportunities. This blog is not affiliated with the University of San Francisco, nor is the university responsible for any of the opinions expressed herein -- though it is certainly responsible for the people who entertain those opinions, having educated them. They make us proud.

One of Our Busy Seniors
Hello all!
As many of you know, I've been dabbling in broadcast journalism and storytelling. I wanted to send you all two links. One is for University of San Francisco's youtube page for USFtv. I am a co-news director and at this link you will be able to see me anchor and report. The second link is to an online college network called palestra.net. I am interning for them and again you can see my stories at this site. Also, if you know high school students who want to know what is going on from a student's perspective at a variety of college campuses, please share the link with them! I hope you all can take a few minutes to enjoy some of my hard work :) Hope all is well and please bookmark these links so you can check back every once in a while and catch a glimpse of my work! The youtube page is updated every two weeks for news and palestra has one new story of mine per week. As for comments and critiques, I would love to hear your thoughts!!!

Big Pat Lagreid was *The King* of Campus Radio Back in the Day
I'm coming to the end of a three-year run with the Seattle Mariners Radio Network, because Fisher Broadcasting's contract as a rightsholder is expiring on Oct. 31 and going to KIRO-AM, owned by Bonneville. There's hope that I could land over there, but nothing is guaranteed. I've applied for some other things, but it's still early yet in the process. It could involve a relocation, but that's still TBD.
My hope would be to stay both in baseball and in Seattle, but I'm more committed to the former than the latter.
In the meantime, between job hunts I'm continuing to work on my two blogs - one of which I am going to be shopping as an audio feature to baseball broadcasts all around the country. I'm trying to shift my employee/entrepreneur balance a little bit, and I hope this will be a good part of that.
And the blogs are:
Baseball On My Brain - www.baseballonmybrain.com
and
The Baseball Book Review - www.baseballbookreview.com

And One of Top Editors There is USF's Own Ryan Henry
Media Studies major Laura Plantholt writes at her blog.
You're looking at the newest intern for High Speed Productions, Inc.
HSP produces three magazines: Thrasher, Juxtapoz, and Slap. Today was my first day, and I spent the entire time transcribing an artist interview that will appear in Slap. I may be developing carpal tunnel syndrom. But I couldn't be happier.
